Where to start

I got tired of my wife sending her friends to me to find cars for them.

So I built this. That's the whole point of this app. We narrow thousands of models down to the ones worth your time, tell you what they should cost, and give you a checklist so the final inspection is the easy part.

We help you figure which cars are worth your time before you ever talk to a salesperson.
We don't sell cars. We don't sell leads. We don't get paid by dealerships. We just tell you what we'd buy.
01

Start with a reliable make and model

Don't wander a lot full of unknowns. We've already narrowed it to the most reliable, safest models in every class — so you walk in knowing what to look for, not hoping to stumble onto it.

Use Ask Gerald to pick a shortlist of 2–3 models before you ever search a listing.
02

Find a local example in your price range

Go in knowing what a given make, year, and model is actually going for. Our price guidance tells you what to expect to pay, so you can spot a deal — or walk away from a markup — with confidence.

Filter by budget and age, then compare the listed asking price to our 'expect to pay' number.
03

Get a Carfax history report

Before you spend a dime, pull the vehicle history. A Carfax report flags title problems, accidents, flood damage, odometer rollbacks, and service gaps that a clean-looking car can hide.

Run the VIN through Carfax for any example you're seriously considering — before the inspection, not after.

04

Get an inspection

Even a reliable model can hide a bad example. Pair your shortlist with a pre-purchase inspection from a trusted mechanic — it's the single best money you'll spend before buying.

Use the in-app inspection checklist so you and your mechanic cover every box.
